According to an article on the CDC website, National Center for Health Statistics Data Brief  No. 82 , January 2012 – Prevalence of Obesity in the United States, 2009–2010:

  • In 2009–2010, 35.7% of U.S. adults were obese.
  • In 2009–2010, 16.9% of U.S. children and adolescents were obese.
  • In 2009–2010, over 78 million U.S. adults and about 12.5 million U.S. children and adolescents were obese.

Health is considered as a state of well-being while wellness is more on getting the most perfect balance of all the dimensions: physical, emotional (mental), intellectual, social, environmental, and spiritual health. Wellness is more of a way of life or lifestyle that seeks to maintain the right balance of all health dimensions.

As a Wellness Coach, I will be catering to your health and wellness. One-on-one coaching sessions is among the most effective approach to helping people make and sustain improvements in their lives. Therefore, I will be working weekly with my clients to help them make healthy, lifestyle choices and changes that can help them accomplish their health and wellness goals. You will make healthy choices, when you are ready to commit to making changes. The only way to break bad habits is to replace them with good ones.

Having a coach is particularly powerful when you have decided to fully commit to making significant behavioral and lifestyle changes. Together we’ll create your personal vision for wellness and identify priorities in one or more areas including: fitness, weight, nutrition, stress, and general health. We will also discuss the principles that are important for you to be successful in developing 12-24 weeks of lifestyle management to change two or three lifestyle behaviors. As your personal coach, I will support and encourage you every step of the way.

 

My Personal Chef services will be available upon request, assisting with meal planning based on dietary and nutritional needs.
