Clients who were facing health issues expressed they wanted to make healthy food choices and live a healthier lifestyle. Many of them participate in yo-yo diets, or begin eating better, begin an exercise regime, and soon realize that they fall off their plan and can’t stay on target. Wellness incorporates the power of choice, meaning an individual has the ability to take action towards optimal health. The individual creates the proper environment for a healthier lifestyle. There is no quick fix for optimal health. The path of health is an infinite journey. To reach an optimal state of health and wellness, the individual appreciates that the body is a three-dimensional being; Body, mind, and spirit.


Clients come to me expecting to be told what to do, but what actually works best for them is to slow down, think about their goals, and then determine the path themselves. When I work with a client, it is typically to encourage the client to change those parts of their life that are most unhealthy – and this could include changing dietary habits or food intake, getting more physical activity, or even quitting smoking. I will work with the client to figure out how the client’s present life is contributing to behaviors that might need to be changed and what can be done to change everyday living so that behavior changes come about easier.
